In the summer of 2015, Mum and I attended a bring and buy and garden party in aid of cancer research. We weren't sure whether we would make it or not as she was in the middle of a course of chemotherapy, but we did.

Before we went, Mum donated a number of items to the bring and buy.

Whilst there, my friends who were running the event, treated my mum like royalty. She ate some Victoria sponge cake, which she declared was the best she had ever had.

She contributed generously to the collection buckets, which was just another example of how she would always help others, even whilst she was so ill herself.
