Dear Suzanne and Nicola I'm very sad to hear that your Mum has passed away. As you probably know, your Mum and Dad were my Godparents and were always very kind to me when I was a kid. Later on I remember how we used to go and watch Torquay United and often sat together in the Family Stand and lamented TUFC's uselessness together. I hadn't had much contact with Sylvia in recent years but my Mum always kept me in touch with her news, so I knew that she had been unwell and that she had borne her illness with great strength and fortitude. Mum said she never complained and only thought of others despite her own problems. Indeed, she was very kind to send me a card for my 50th which was a lovely surprise. I will always remember her and also your Dad with great affection. I trust that you and your families are all well, and please know that you are in my thoughts at this sad time.
